What is Fascial Stretch Therapy?


Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST), is a type of stretching that targets more than just the muscles. It targets the fascia as well. Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and joints, in fact almost everything that is you. FST also targets the entire joint and joint capsule. Think of the Joint Capsule like a hinge. If the hinge is rusty or stuck, the door won’t move very easily. FST uses traction to remove restrictions from movement and to stimulate lubrication. A certified therapist has been trained and knows how to gently pull and move the arms, legs, spine, and neck in a smooth motion. There is no pain, not even discomfort. Instead, the gentle movement is stimulating and relaxing at the same time.
