October already?

We just got back from Vermont in mid August where the “Hills are Alive”, if you catch my drift.

beaslea-and-winnieLately, I’ve been entertaining my good friend Winnie. She came to stay for 15 days at my house. We’ve had a blast walking, and eating, and sleeping, and resting, and sleeping, and TV watching, and sleeping….

A dog’s life.

So far this fall Mr. And Mrs. Barr have been busy setting up their Fall Pilates Barr activities.

I need you to know about some of the things that are coming up at the studio..

There is a charity drive (Pilates and Iyengar Yoga marathon) happening at the Pilates Barr on Sunday, Nov. 06.

Support the Girls

This event will benefit the Canadian Breast Cancer Support Fund. The Fund supports women in their greatest time of need, providing short-term financial support to help patients focus, simply and solely, on fighting their devastating disease.

Please SIGN UP as an individual and do all four hours, or create a TEAM of 2 or 4 people to “share the love” There are 12 mats available for each hour – sign up early!

If you know Mark Rush you won’t want to miss this and if you don’t know Mark Rush then come meet him at his workshop, Free the QI (Chi) on Saturday, October 29.

Mark Rush of Still Water Therapies explores Eastern ideas of how the human body is structured and how the body’s Qi (Chi) or life energy flows.

The discussion will not only encompass the physical, mental, and emotional experience of a “Qi disharmony” but will also spend some time discovering ways to bring your Qi back into a harmonious flow and regain optimum health.

Every dog knows this!

Now, I need to come up with a costume….happy_hippiesBeaser Signature

what people are saying..

  • The best place for quality instructors. Great one on one instruction and group classes are very enjoyable too. One of the best places I have found for good pilaties classes.

    Christina B.,
  • Thank you to the excellent Teachers at The Pilates Barr. My chiropractor recommended Pilates to me as a sound method of strengthening my body. I can say it works! I have never felt better and stronger since I joined the Pilates Barr. The teachers are so professional and the classes are conducted with the care and learning and safety of students. I feel totally confident learning this method and without fear of injuring myself. It’s a fun learning environment.

    Deborah W.,
  • The Pilates Barr is a cool place to spend a few hours a week. My twice weekly sessions help develop core strength and improve balance and all those good things. But that time also gives me space to step away briefly from the concerns of ordinary life in a calm and supportive environment — and that is equally important to me. Lisa, garden designer.
